“Society is getting a lot better at accepting boys in makeup, but I still think we have a long way to go.”

And may we get a round of applause for our first ever Sportsboy? Meet Jacob Stella, the 22 year old makeup artist who started experimenting with makeup at the age of just 15. He’s managed to make a name for himself in the industry with his creative and colourful looks, but it hasn’t come without its ups and downs.

When we asked Jacob what he wanted to be in 2020, his answer was BE DRIVEN.

We sat down with Jacob to talk about how he takes criticism as a boy in the beauty world. As someone who aims to inspire others by creating his own lane, Jacob reminds us “whatever you get bullied for in high school is your strength”.
